Behind each prohibition there’s a dark secret, a business that hardly has a transparent look. This cannot be considered a support to freedom and promotion of the free market. The history of the prohibition of alcohol in the 1930s in the United States is well known. This led to an increase in organized crime, gangs and smuggling, which meant an increase in the police’s costs to support the fight against smuggling, which represents a raise in the taxes.
